We believe that prayerful consideration is integral to selecting leaders who will effectively guide our church. Your thoughtful discernment in choosing three of the Board-Approved Nominees will contribute significantly to the continued growth.  These positions are vital to the ongoing health and strategic direction of our church. Thanks for your interest & participation in the AGM 2024.

Nomination Qualifications

Who qualifies?

Glad Tidings By-laws state that: Glad Tidings By-laws state that: “The qualifications for service on the Board shall be determined and approved in accordance with the policy of this local church, as guided by such scriptural provisions as are cited in Acts 6:3; 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Titus 1:5-9. The official Board shall be comprised of members who are of good report and sound judgment, examples to the congregation in matters of stewardship, church attendance, spiritual maturity and seeking constantly, as sanctified vessels, to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18).”

Must lead a life of good stewardship

Including supporting this church with a tithe (10%) of their income. 1 Timothy 3:8, Luke 11:42

Must maintain confidentiality

Will not discuss Board issues with any member of the congregation and/or Immediate Family 

Must provide supportive ministry

Provide Helpful & encouraging support to the Lead Pastor (and staff team) of Glad Tidings and protect and uphold the same wherever possible.

Demonstrated gift of leadership

Must have a  and believe that God is calling them to use their leadership gift to serve this local assembly. 1 Timothy 3:10, Romans 12: 6-8

Active ministry role

Must have an active ministry role within this local assembly in addition to a Board of Deacons role.

Provide Counsel

Must be able to give support to the leadership in spiritual matters with sound doctrine and wise counsel. Acts 6:31, Thessalonians 5:12

No family as staff or on the Board

Must be the only one of their Immediate Family that is on the Board of Deacons or in a staff position at Glad Tidings. Immediate Family members cannot be on the same slate of nominees for election to the Board of Deacons.

Respectful & supportive spouse

If married, must have a spouse that is respected and respectful in speech and conduct and is a Member in good standing of Glad Tidings.

The following Board Members are in the midst of serving their terms of office and cannot be suggested for nomination:
Dave Barnaby, Thomas Hamilton, Allen Root, Cathy Munge, Mark McPhail, Mac Carmichael

Ineligible for re-election

The following have completed their three-year term of service
and may not be considered eligible for re-election
for a period of one year. They cannot be suggested for nomination:
Tom Buscarino, Mitzi Dodd, Calvin Tapley

Glad Tidings is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC). Glad Tidings has adopted the Statement of Fundamental and Essential Truths outlined by the PAOC.
