Who is Legacy College For?

High School Students

Recent High School graduates who are considering a gap year to strengthen their faith, or interested in exploring the call to ministry, are invited to complete our full-time program. This 8 month program would see students complete 7 accredited courses, including Ministry Formation and Practicum.

Students interested in continuing education via Legacy College beyond one year should seek academic counsel from Dr. Julie A. Tiessen.

College/University Students:Students transferring from an incomplete college or university program and are interested in taking a break are also invited to apply for our full-time one-year college program. Learn more about applying as a transfer student. Students who have completed a college diploma or university degree and wish to explore theology in an academic setting for the first time are encouraged to connect with Dr. Julie A. Tiessen to discuss the 2+2 Program, transferring in credits to receive a bachelor’s degree from MCS-Horizon.

Recognition of Ministry (ROM) Students:
Those seeking Recognition of Ministry (ROM) credentials must complete the courses offered in MCS-Horizon’s
Certificate in Christian Leadership – Credential Track. Submit your application at MCS-Horizon to apply.

Mature/Occasional Students:
Anyone looking to explore theology and a call to ministry in an educational community at their own pace (fewer than 5 courses) is welcome to apply for
Open Studies

Where would I study?
Study locally at our GT Burlington Legacy College Church Hub! Both in-person instruction and livestreamed courses take place in one of our two dedicated Legacy College classrooms (Legacy 1 or Legacy 2). Each is equipped with “Owl” system technology, so your classmates and instructor at other church hubs or campuses across Canada can hear and see your classroom virtually.

How are courses offered?
Depending on the course(s) you are taking, they may run as:
Semester: 12 weeks (3 hours per week)
Term: 6 weeks (3 hours 2x per week)
Module: 1 week (6 hours x5 days)
