Sermon on the Mount: Week 6 - Blessed are the Merciful

Mercy, as modelled by Jesus, is more than pity—it is compassion that moves us to act, bringing relief, healing, forgiveness, and hope to others, even when they do not deserve it. Through biblical examples, the sermon shows how Jesus consistently chose mercy over judgment, calling His followers to do the same in everyday situations, from personal relationships to interactions with strangers and enemies. True mercy flows naturally from having received God’s mercy, and the lack of it reveals areas of the heart still resistant to His transformation. Ultimately, believers are challenged to live as “people of mercy,” becoming God’s solution for a hurting world in desperate need of grace.
