LIFE Together: Meet Our GT Summer Students
In the past, Glad Tidings Church has received funding from the Canada Summer Jobs program to provide employment to students. Due to a new government requirement we do not agree with, GT leadership decided we would self-fund two Summer Student positions.
Thanks to your generous support, we were able to raise the necessary funds and hire two Summer Students: Madison Chrissley and Elysha Carter.
Madison Chrissley — Children’s Ministry
My name is Madison, and I am going into my second year in the Children’s ministry stream at Master’s College and Seminary in Peterborough. I have been serving in the children’s ministry at Glad Tidings for over five years, which is where my passion for investing in the next generation began. I am so excited to partner with Glad Tidings in their vision to teach young people about the love of God.
Elysha Carter — Youth & Outreach
I’m Elysha, and I am entering my third year at Master’s College and Seminary in the youth ministry stream. I love expressing myself and my love for God through music, visual arts, and poetry. This summer I am not only excited for God to teach me more about His glory, but for the transformation of hearts, minds, and souls within the body of Christ and the community as the Gospel continues to be shared!
We are blessed to have Allison Boylan with us until the end of June for an internship through Master’s College and Seminary.
Hi, I’m Allison. I’m currently taking my Bachelor's in Religious Education at Master’s. I recently got engaged to my boyfriend of two and a half years, Luke, and we are in the process of planning our wedding for next May. Though I am only here for a short amount of time, I have met lots of friendly and welcoming people, and I have had opportunities for growth. I look forward to spending the rest of my time at GT meeting people, building connections and growing in my relationship with God as well as continuing to learn what I am capable of.
We are also pleased to announce that a special, unexpected source of grant funding will allow us to hire Jubilee Rowe for 8 weeks as Worship & Creative Arts Assistant.
Hi, my name is Jubilee. I graduated high school last year and am now hoping to study Worship and Theology this fall, perhaps having the opportunity to be a Worship Pastor or a Music Therapist in the future. This summer, I am most excited to be able to serve and grow at Glad Tidings, and to have a taste of what ministry is like. I am also looking forward to learning from our amazing pastors and staff, and having their influence and mentorship for the summer.
